Need lab testing or blood work near Gulfport without an appointment or a referral? Total Health Urgent Care in Vancleave keeps its own lab and X-ray on-site, so you can walk in, get tested, and often leave with your results and a treatment plan the same day. Our doors are open 7 AM to 7 PM every day at 12000 Hwy 57, about a 38-minute drive up I-10 and MS-57 from Gulfport. No appointment, walk-ins welcome.

That “same visit” part is the whole point. A lot of standalone lab locations just draw your blood and send the results back to a doctor you still have to go see. Here, a provider orders the test, reads it, explains what it means, and treats you if you need it, all in one stop.

TL;DR

  • On-site lab with many rapid CLIA-waived tests: flu, strep, RSV, COVID, mono, urinalysis, blood glucose, H. pylori, and pregnancy, with results during your visit.
  • On-site X-ray for injuries and illness, read by a provider the same day.
  • Self-pay office visit $130, self-pay X-ray $75, free school and sports physicals.
  • Rapid 5-panel and 10-panel drug screens plus DOT and non-DOT physicals.
  • Walk-in, no appointment, open every day 7 AM to 7 PM. About 38 minutes from Gulfport.

What lab tests can you get at a walk-in clinic near Gulfport?

At Total Health Urgent Care you can get a range of rapid, in-house lab tests during a single walk-in visit. These are CLIA-waived point-of-care tests, which the CDC defines as simple tests with a low risk for an incorrect result (CDC). Because they run right where you’re seen, your provider can test you, read the result, and start treatment before you leave.

Does urgent care do blood work?

Yes, and there are two ways it usually works. Some blood tests, like a finger-stick blood glucose, are rapid CLIA-waived tests we run right here with results during your visit. More detailed blood panels are collected here and sent to a partner reference lab, with results back typically in a day or two. Either way, a provider orders the right test for your symptoms and follows up on what it shows. There’s no need to already have a primary doctor, and nothing to schedule ahead.

This matters because what usually delays people isn’t the test, it’s cost and hassle. According to KFF, about 44% of U.S. adults say it’s very or somewhat difficult to afford their health care costs (KFF). Knowing the office visit price up front, and getting the visit, the test, and the treatment in one trip, takes a lot of that stress off the table.

How long does it take to get walk-in lab results?

For the rapid on-site tests, results come back during your visit, usually within minutes. Flu, strep, RSV, COVID, urinalysis, blood glucose and the other CLIA-waived tests are read while you wait, so your provider can act on them the same day. Tests that go to an outside reference lab take longer, generally a day or two, and the clinic will let you know how you’ll get those results. The advantage of a walk-in urgent care is that for most common illnesses, you get an answer and a plan in a single visit instead of waiting days for a callback.

How much does walk-in lab testing and X-ray cost near Gulfport?

We publish our self-pay prices so there are no surprises. The self-pay office visit is priced at $130, which covers the exam, any needed referrals, and prescriptions. A self-pay X-ray is $75. School and sports physicals are free. We accept most major insurance and bill it directly, so if you’re covered, your visit is processed through your plan.

Point-of-care lab tests are performed as part of your visit. If you have insurance, bring your card and we’ll bill your plan. If you’re paying out of pocket, you’ll know the office visit price before you’re seen. Prices can change, so give us a ring at (228) 283-5045 and we’ll go over current pricing before you come in.

Can you get an X-ray for an injury in the same visit?

Absolutely, and that’s one of the biggest reasons to choose a walk-in clinic with imaging on-site. We have on-site X-ray, so a sprain, a possible fracture, or a bad cough that might be pneumonia can be imaged and read the same day. As RadiologyInfo.org, the patient site from the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology, puts it: “Because x-ray imaging is fast and easy, it is particularly useful in emergency diagnosis and treatment” (RadiologyInfo.org). X-rays help spot broken bones, infections, and swallowed foreign objects, and a chest X-ray can help diagnose pneumonia.

X-rays are also a low-radiation exam. RadiologyInfo.org notes that a chest X-ray delivers about 0.1 mSv, roughly the amount of natural background radiation an average person receives over about 10 days (RadiologyInfo.org).

One important note: an urgent care handles minor injuries and illness, not life-threatening emergencies. For chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of a stroke, heavy bleeding, or any medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

DOT physicals and drug screening near Gulfport

We handle employment and commercial-driver testing too. Total Health Urgent Care offers rapid 5-panel and 10-panel drug screens on-site, plus DOT and non-DOT physicals performed by an FMCSA-registered examiner. That covers pre-employment, random, post-accident, and workman’s comp screening in one visit.

If you drive commercially, the medical certificate from a DOT exam is valid for up to 24 months, and the exam must be done by an examiner on the FMCSA National Registry (FMCSA). The federal DOT drug test is a 5-panel urine screen that checks for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opioids, and PCP under U.S. Department of Transportation rules (49 CFR Part 40). Because we’re a licensed urgent care, you can get the physical and the screen handled together instead of running to two places.
